THE CROOKED BRICK WALL

I saw this wall on a walk.

If the brick work had been laid perfectly, it wouldn't have caught my eye.

But this wall is perfect in its' imperfection.

I love it.

It has a whimsical enchanted feel to it.

How clever they were to have their brick wall built with such character.

But there is this part of me that wonders

if the person who built this wall had no prior

experience

in brick laying - .. but that is

kind of cool also, that they would attempt a

task this difficult

with such inexperience - I kind of think the builder

of this wall is left handed. I am - and I can spot

a lefty from a mile away - if not the person, then

their creations.

Wow indeed a lovely wall, it definitely has character and whimzzy. I have pretty handwriting or print and I write with my left hand however I do everything else with my right. Is that weird? lol

It is indeed interesting, but perhaps the builder is not a lefty, but smoked too much of the good stuff.

I love going on long walks. Wish I could go for walks with you, Sandy, we'd have such a ball! We just have to be with each other in spirit, won't we? :-)

I noticed this crooked fence on someone's front garden recently. The bricks were laid out in the form of steps which looked really bizzare and original at the same time.

I wonder if the builder of this crooked brick wall was inspired by this nursery rhyme?

There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile,
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse.
And they all lived together in a little crooked house.

Cheers, love.

I think it was in honor of a Lucy and Ethel show where Lucy lost her ring trying to bring sandwiches out to Ricky and Fred while they built a brick barbecue pit. They came out in the middle of the night and tried to take it apart and rebuild it. It could also have been someone who asked some friends over to help...booze included. Or maybe just a work of art. Interesting conversation piece though!

Jose - I, like you, write with my left but do most other things with my right. So I guess we are ambidexterous - or maybe it means eccentric...not sure.. ha. Are you having fun in Cali?

Rudee - I thought that could be the case too, ha.

Enocia - After having read your posts through the years, you would be fun to walk with - I like to see things differently also

Brenda: I kind of remember that show - and of course with Lucy involved it would be hilarious.

I like that you stopped and put so much thought into why the bricks were laid the way they were. Ha! Most people would probably walk by and not even notice the brickwork, let alone stop and think who made it that way and why. :D
